AGTA 2008 Awards

Oxford University Press would like to congratulate Iain Hay, author of several Oxford textbooks, on receiving an Australian Geography Teachers' Association Award.

On 25 July 2008 the judging panel of Geography Teachers' Association of South Australia met to judge the entries of the Australian Geography Teachers' Association's 2008 Awards. Nominated titles were judged in terms of their currency, authenticity, application of contemporary understandings about how students learn, and use of cutting edge production and contemporary and innovative style. Following their lengthy deliberations it was announced that Oxford author Iain Hay had been selected for an award in the Other Geography Teaching Material category for his book Communicating in Geography and the Environmental Sciences, 3rd edition.

This book built on the success of previous editions in covering the 'whys' and 'hows' of essays, research reports, reviews and examinations and has proven to be a valuable resource in learning how to communicate effectively in academic settings.

Congratulations to Iain Hay on achieving such worthy recognition for this book!
