The
Oxford Wordlist is the result of an extensive and robust research study conducted in 2007 by Oxford University Press. By examining approximately 4000 writing samples from over 1000 Australian students, researchers compiled the
Oxford Wordlist, which represents the 307 most frequently used words by students in the first three years of school in their own writing. Research of this type has not been conducted in over 30 years.
