The aim of Global Public Health: A New Era is to promote the practice of public health in all countries, with an emphasis on developing countries. It stems from the evidence that public health as a discipline and set of activities has for too long been neglected. The reinvigoration of public health needs to be based on a realistic assessment of the challenges to be faced and the current state of public health practice globally. This is the justification for this book.
- Looks at current state of public health theory and practice
- Presents major global health challenges facing public health practitioners
- Reviews practice of public health in all major regions of the world
- Suggests the way forward
