For a similar case study, see the case of Telstra v Hornsby Shire Council (2006) 146 LGERA 10, where community members and a number of local councillors refused planning consent for the installation of a mobile telecommunications base station, due to (scientifically unsubstantiated) concerns about the health impacts of the radio waves. The New South Wales Land and Environment Court rejected their concerns.
