The glossy book is well set out in comprehensive and clear chapters designed to improve student's English skills. The book can effectively be used as a teacher reference or student workbook. Part one of the resource includes some key ideas and activities on planning effective study and could be equally used for a general study skills session as well as in English class.
Part two includes some essential language skills revision and covers aspects such as; punctuation, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension skills, extended responses and effective ways students can develop to proofread their own work. There are a range of different activities with sample answers in the back of the book.
Part three explores the skills of responding and composing in School Certificate English. It begins by exploring key terms and concepts with clear explanations and examples as well as a range of various activities to help students fully understand not only how to analyse but also how to compose. Part three then continues to explore a range of different types of texts such as fiction, visual, poetry, drama and media again focusing on responding and composing to these texts.
