This new fourth edition of the Australian Law Dictionary provides the opportunity for trainee and practising legal professionals to increase their thinking across arbitrary legal boundaries.

While law needs to be taught in discrete subject areas, practising lawyers need to instinctively understand law as a host of alternative possibilities. The Australian Law Dictionary help lawyers see context and connection so they can integrate their thinking beyond individual subjects.

New to this Edition:

Wider focus on ‘Beyond Priestley 11’ subjects.

  • Foundations of law and Legal Writing.
  • Environmental law, First nations, family and community.
  • Commercial law (online, accounting, tax) and Intellectual property.
  • International and humanitarian law.
  • Jurisprudence.
  • Priestley 12 (legal practice).

Key Features:

We are keeping all the features that made the Australian Law Dictionary an award-winning dictionary.

  • Online access to Abbreviations, Law Report and Medium-Neutral Case Citations, Popular Case Names, Australian Prime Ministers, Justices of the High Court of Australia and the Constitution.
  • Written, reviewed and edited by legal experts.
