Flying Start to Literacy: Phonics

Rich Phonics Development

Flying Start to Literacy: Phonics follows an explicit and systematic sequence of skills and knowledge from common sounds of consonants and vowels to less common letter-sound correspondences.

There are three modules and seven units organised into teaching units that contain lesson plans, reviews and an overview of the accompanying decodable texts.

The 70 engaging, decodable texts follow the same sequence for the independent practice of newly learnt skills.

Structure. Sequence. Support.

The program is built on a well‑designed Scope and Sequence that introduces students to common vowel and consonant sounds before progressing to more complex letter-sound patterns.
Every lesson includes multi‑layered, cohesive plans that seamlessly blend literacy activities with the phonics focus to reinforce learning.
