Read Write Inc. Phonics is a rigorous synthetic phonics program for F–2 that is proven to create fluent, enthusiastic readers, confident speakers and willing writers.

During this two-day professional development training, our Read Write Inc. trainer Robert Simpson will discuss the importance of teaching phonics first and fast, introduce the pedagogy and process for successfully teaching students to read, write and spell with the Read Write Inc. Phonics program.

  • The process for the reading, writing and spelling activities.
  • The examination of videos from real lessons.
  • The practice and preparation required before stepping back into your school, including consistent management strategies that speed up progress and ensure participation.

Trainer

Robert Simpson - Freelance consultant trainer

Robert is a freelance trainer for Ruth Miskin Training in Australia. He is currently an Assistant Principal in a busy primary school in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and has been a primary school teacher for more than 25 years. He taught for 15 years in the UK before moving to Australia in 2009. He has been using Read Write Inc for the last 12 years and is passionate about the role it can play in achieving the goal of teaching every Australian child to read.
